Empathy Matters - Multicultural Conversations

An Empathy Circle is a structured dialogue based on mutual active listening. The process increases constructive dialogue and mutual understanding by ensuring that each person feels fully heard. The goal of the project is to build a culture of empathy to bridge divides in the community, enable conversations and critical dialogues.

The first empathy circle that the hub organised was on the issue of violence against women, an extremely critical and relevant issue that needs to be discussed. The hub led an Empathy Circle on this topic during Daan Utsav Festival, with 16 participants including both women and men. The participants of the circle were the festival organisers and volunteers working with communities and organisations, as well as victims who sought support.

The hub plans to organize more of such circles on different topics and with diverse groups to build a culture of empathy.
