Encontro com líderes (Meet The Leaders)

Problem Statement and Target Group

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), by 2022 Angola had a population of 33,086,278. The document mentions that the largest percentage of the country's population is made up of women (16,938,633) and young people (64.9%), and it is estimated that 21,475,348 people are under the age of 25. They have difficulties in terms of consumption, such as education, health, training, employment, and housing, among others, which directly ends up negatively affecting economic and social development. After checking the above data, it emerged that many young people do not have leadership models that can prepare them to better act as agents of transformation in their communities.

Proposed Solution

MEET THE LEADER therefore aims to identify, present, and promote proven leadership models (corporate, social, entrepreneurial, professional, governmental, associated, and others) that can be replicated. It also promotes the sharing of knowledge and opportunities for these to interact and inspire thousands of young people from different walks of life.

Hub Activities

A wave of challenges is plaguing our society: the decline of moral values, the problem of unemployment, and the lack of references for today's youth are all visible examples. Therefore, every month we create a networking space to promote meetings and sharing between different leaders who are making an impact in their areas of activity through interactive dialogues with young people from different social backgrounds.

LEADERSHIP SCHOOL: A quarterly program For the development of young talents in Angola, with the aim to empower them to become confident, conscientious, and responsible leaders in their careers and communities by learning the following topics:

  • Leadership Skills: To promote leadership skills such as effective communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, and teamwork;

  • Professional Preparation: To equip young people with essential tools in the search for a job, including resume (CV) creation, interview preparation, and career guidance;

  • Civic Responsibility: To promote awareness of civic responsibility by encouraging young people to get involved in activities that benefit their communities and the country;

  • Personal Development: Support participants' personal growth, addressing topics such as goal setting, self-discipline, and resilience;

  • Networking and Mentoring: Facilitating valuable networking opportunities, and connecting young people with experienced leaders and local companies.
