Entrepreneurship Initiative

Overview

The lack of entrepreneurship initiatives in Kerala has resulted in the state being a “Money Order” Economy, heavily reliant on the remittances from a large expat workforce. From the early 21st century, startups have brought in a new paradigm in wealth creation. Disruptions have become the norm for effective market capture and new avenues of employment creation and opportunities. We believe that startups would help to solve the problems of unemployment and sustainability which has been looming in Kerala. The lack of natural resources can be effectively mitigated using the State's high investment in education.

Techstars Startup Weekend is an exciting and immersive foray into the world of startups. Over an action-packed three days, the participants will meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors to show them how to get more done faster and maybe even start their business.

The Techstars worldwide network helps entrepreneurs succeed. Founded in 2006, Techstars began with three simple ideas—entrepreneurs create a better future for everyone, collaboration drives innovation, and great ideas can come from anywhere. Now they are on a mission to enable every person on the planet to contribute to, and benefit from, the success of entrepreneurs. In addition to operating accelerator programs and venture capital funds, they do this by connecting startups, investors, corporations, and cities to help build thriving startup communities. Techstars has invested in more than 2,200 companies that today have a combined market cap valuation of more than $30 Billion.
