Entrepreneurship Workshop For Immigrant Communities In Budapest

Problem Statement

Hungary has recently welcomed and absorbed thousands of Venezuelans through a humanitarian project sponsored by the Hungarian government for Venezuelans of Hungarian ancestry. While the Hungarian government has provided much assistance with regards to documentation and financial support, many Venezuelans fail to integrate into Hungarian society due to cultural, linguistic, and, or professional shortcomings not covered by Hungarian government support.

Target Group: Venezuelan citizens living in Hungary.

Proposed Solution:

The project's main goal is to host workshops in Spanish for the Venezuelan community in Budapest. The project will also use available networks and knowledge to create additional content useful to the Venezuelan citizens in Hungary. The Budapest Hub members will be further encouraged to become mentors for end recipients of the Upskill Library.

Goals:

The short-term goal is to empower migrant communities in Hungary to translate their entrepreneurial dreams into action, starting with the Venezuelan community.

The long-term goal is to share workshop materials in different languages to different migrant communities in Hungary (not just in Spanish and English), as well as replicating the model with other Hubs over the world as a Cross-Hub project (language as well as local legislation and entrepreneurship conditions have to be adapted).

Impact:

Thirty (30) attendees participated in a workshop event and provided overwhelmingly positive feedback. Attendees will in turn share knowledge acquired with their respective connections.

The final workshop recording and presentation will be shared with the Venezuelan Hungarian Association to be shared freely with its members.

The Hub is currently processing post-participation feedback forms to assess how to improve the project for future editions.
