The project “Financial Literacy” of the Global Shapers of Rome aims to train as many young people as possible on financial subjects and to provide them the right knowledge and instruments to build their own financial education.

The project is divided into two phases: a first one of internal training in the Hub (March - June 2023) and the second one of training delivery in high schools or/and universities (September - December 2023).

The first phase of the project consists of a training course for the Global Shapers Rome Hub, with the objective of not only sharing notions and knowledge related to financial education for their own personal/professional use, but also to train the Shapers who will then teach the course in schools/universities during the second phase of the project. On top of that, during this 1st phase, a “Meet the Lead" (meeting with a personality from the financial/educational sector) will be arranged so as to gather further experience and insights.

The second phase of the project will see the Shapers that attended the course in the first phase to go to schools and/or universities and deliver a financial education course to students of those institutions.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create a Rome Financial Education Network, further expanding this initiative to as many institutions as possible and involving a wide group of stakeholders and organisations. The project also aims to obtain at least a national partnership (e.g., with the National Bank of Italy) in order to collaborate and promote related activities.
