Impact

Hagamos Algo

“Hagamos Algo” is an initiative of Global Shapers Rosario that encourages people interested in transforming their local reality, to meet with referents of the city with the aim of creating projects that promote citizen consciousness on the Global Shapers Community lines of impact. During 2019 the Hub carried out a one day event which involved all the areas of impact: education and employment, equity and inclusion and sustainable development. The Hub had the support of mentors from various NGOs in the city: Orillas, JCI, Enredar, Start Up Weekend, Cigadrillo, Basuratón. The event started with a panel of NGOs who talked about some projects that promote citizen participation and have an impact on the mentioned areas with the aim of introducing the public to the topics. Then, the public participated in a group activity, forming teams to approach each area of impact and working throughout the afternoon to imagine projects, which they turned into more concrete ideas thanks to the advice of mentors. For the planning and formulation of the projects the Hub used the manuals from The Social Enterprise Institute and the social impact canvas of the global community. An ongoing project emerged from the event called “Graneleando Rosario”, which has the objective of reducing single-use plastic consumption by encouraging citizen participation through a collaborative ecomap with information on places where bulk products can be purchased in the city.

The main project objective is to encourage collaboration between people interested in transforming their local reality and NGO representatives in the city, so that together participants can create impact projects that promote citizen participation.

Specific objectives:

- Promote the participation of citizens in the search for solutions to local problems.

- Provide methodological tools for the planning and formulation of impact projects.

- Encourage meetings between various NGOs in the city to find comprehensive solutions to several local matters.
