Inclusive Modern Work in Rural Areas

Problem statement

Also, Antananarivo and a lot of big cities in the world face to urban congestion. In order to seek for a better life, many of rural people move away from the countryside to the urban centers. In many cases, the quality of living isn’t even better, and sometimes it is worst.

And moreover, we established that a big issue in Madagascar in general, is the existing distrust between different categories of population (different ethnic groups, different social categories…). It doesn’t allow a healthy economic and social development.

Proposed solutions

It will be a win-win solution. In order to make the countryside more attractive and to highlight on the real possibilities to earn money also in these parts of the country.

Target group

-       The unemployed people in the capital, agree to move away from Antananarivo for a few months.

-       The farmer, whose lands produce strategical farm produces. And who need more workforce to accomplish daily tasks. Also, they need to be pedagogues to transfer skills.

We are thinking of making rural and agricultural areas new fertile soil for employment. This will involve a conversion of the unemployed in the capital into rural employees, who will learn agricultural techniques to produce food, while preserving the land. At the same time, a political will to develop the local economy, the country’s food self-sufficiency and to preserve the environment. We would like to join our effort to that initiative and make as many unemployed people as possible benefit from this altenative

 Target group

The unemployed in the capital as well as farmers.

Activities

Gather the unemployed people in the capital and convert them into rural workers, who will learn agricultural techniques to produce food, while preserving the land. The remuneration would remain low or non-existent but the counterpart would be the provision of a place to live, the possibility of feeding on what has been harvested and above all being able to train in new skills for free and then find a job in the agricultural sector.

Partners
Organizations focusing on the promotion of agriculture (private, non profit and public)
Organizations in the training and capacity building activity
