Junior Shapers Scholarship Program (JSSP)

Within a poor family where the mother is mostly illiterate, within an educational system where no failure is allowed under grade 3, a kid reaching grade 4 or 5 with several reading and writing difficulties, fails at the end of the academic year. When the mother is a fairly educated, she supports her kids; when she is not, her kids either continue to fail or drop out from school. The son dropping out from school ends up seeking for job to support financially his parents while the girl stays at home until she gets married. Once married, those drop outs go through exactly the same cycle with their kids, until someone breaks it!
In marginalized communities within Tripoli, students achieving grade 9 are considered highly educated. Focusing on increasing the number of high school graduates will break the cycle stated above.
Providing hundred 3-year scholarships to Grade 9 students will scale up the outreach impact by breaking the status quo of those disenfranchised communities.

The JSSP is mainly divided into 3 main costs:

  • Academic Scholarship including Registration, Books & Stationary and Transportation fees

  • Enrichment Program including English support, Trainings and Orientation fees

  • Operational Expenses including all hub logistics, calls, transportation, stationary, printings, venue rental and other fees

Expenses by programs:

  1. Academic Scholarship per student costs 700 USD/ Year

  2. Enrichment support per student costs 500 USD/ Year

  3. Operational Expenses to run the program costs 9000 USD/ year

Thus, Full scholarship per student/year = 1500 USD
