Kuzunga - Promoting Environmental Education, Financial Literacy and Inclusion

Project KUZUNGA started in 2018 and currently aims to promote Environmental Education, Financial Literacy, and Inclusion for Zungueiras - who are street vendors, mostly women with low literacy and income levels, but who nevertheless represent a very expressive fringe of the Angolan population and Economy.


The goal of this initiative is to promote the socio-economic and sustainable inclusion of 100 “ZUNGUEIRAS” women quarterly, aged between 20 and 60 years.


The main objectives are:


1. Promote Financial Education and encourage the formalization/legalization of Informal businesses (with PREI)


2. Promote environmental education, waste management, best street vending, and business practices


3. Facilitate the Banking and Financial Inclusion of Zungueiras


4. Introduce Digital Literacy (Fintechs)


5. Facilitate access to microcredit/microloans and greater access to products necessary for their commercial activities.


Kuzunga Classes - To share knowledge about financial management and best business practices we'll provide a set of sequential classes/training that will be taught with an expected duration of between 2 or 3 months, in 4 modules:


1.


• Financial education (Increase in income, control expenses, savings, and investment);


• Environmental Education and Waste Management and Best sales practices and setup of recycling points;


• Reconversion of the Informal Economy (with PREI).


2.


• Introduction and inclusion into the Angolan economic and financial systems (Banking).


3.


• Introduction to Digital Literacy (Fintechs and Partner App).


4.


• Acess to Microcredit / microloans.
