New Year in Hospitals

Executive Summary:

New Year is the most wonderful holiday; however, a lot of kids must spend it within the pale walls of the hospitals. Every year due to certain health issues over 300 children in Yerevan spend their New Year eve in hospitals. In 2016, Yerevan Hub initiated “New Year Magic in Hospitals” project to bring happiness and joy to these children by making the New Year a true magic for them. In the framework of the project every year the Global Shapers Yerevan Hub members and friends dress in different fairy tale characters and together with Santa visit local hospitals to distribute various gifts to kids. The day fills the life of kids, parents and the visitors with joy and happiness and shining bright eyes. Santa is also encouraging children to perform and play games by showcasing their talents. In 2018 the project became even more special by cooperating with EPIC Armenia climbers club. As a result, kids received their gifts from the flying Santa, who were climbing down from the rooftop of the hospitals right into the rooms through windows. Within three years, 5 local hospitals were visited, and more than 380 kids received gifts.
