Not all those who doubt are lost

Problematic

Following the COVID-19 pandemic era, young adults in Montevideo experienced a remarkable stagnation. The lack of spaces for conversation and support following this critical period intensified the perception of blockage in various areas of life, such as work, studies, routine and time management. In this context, the pressing need to provide young adults with the necessary tools to recognize and take advantage of their individual potential was identified.

In response to this reality, the Montevideo Hub recognized the importance of addressing mental health, recognizing the emotional and psychological impacts of these post-pandemic challenges. The Hub's interest was to focus on awakening self-awareness, stimulating latent curiosity and fostering connection with other individuals facing similar circumstances.

Project solution

"Not all doubters are lost" was conceived as an experiential workshop space, aimed at deep reflection and the acquisition of practical tools to recognize and develop the potential of each participant. The fundamental objective of the project was to create an environment where young people could explore their purpose, identify strengths, express desires and confront excuses that might be limiting their growth. During these interactive and sensory workshops, open dialogue about acceptance and the naturalization of the experience of feeling lost was encouraged. Participants were encouraged to recognize in others the same concerns and challenges they were experiencing, thus generating a sense of community and belonging. The fundamental premise was to convey the message "you are not alone", establishing a genuine connection between generations and providing a valuable space for encountering others on a similar quest. The interactive and experiential modality was strategically selected to leave a lasting impression on participants, giving them tangible tools and meaningful experiences to take away with them.

The workshops were facilitated by members of Global Shapers Montevideo. This project not only sought to break down perceived barriers, but also addressed mental health, providing a safe space for reflection and emotional containment. It focused on the search for purpose, offering tools to enable young people to explore and define their long-term goals and aspirations. The premise was that by challenging limiting beliefs and strengthening mental health, young people were able to rediscover their purpose and move towards a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
