Phnom Penh Dialogue Day - Future City Summit

The Cambodia sessions “Phnom Penh Dialogue Day” was an Open Day (Day 1) for the "Preah Sisowath Quay: Riverside Heritage Walk" Research Photo Exhibition (18th - 25th December). It consisted of a series of commentaries, accompanying illustrations and a photo essay on the topic of pedestrianizing Preah Sisowath Quay. The redesign of the riverside area into a human-centric space was the main focus of the content. In addition, urban policy, economic benefits, social, and environmental impacts were also discussed. 

 

Global Shapers Phnom Penh was one of the key organizations in supporting this key initiative. The members of Global Shapers Phnom Penh Hub joined in taken lead and organized the event.

 

The goal was to explore the potential ideas related to the transformation of a riverside area into a more human-centric public space, and its role in enhancing Phnom Penh City branding. Phnom Penh Dialogue Day section, participants are invited to share their perspectives on the future of Phnom Penh public spaces as well as the economic benefits, changes in urban policies, landscape design, and the positive impacts they provide. It was an opportunity to develop future collaborations between individuals, organizations and sectors. Exploring ways to elevate Phnom Penh as a livable urban center with that is economic, environmental, cultural, and commercial sustainable.

Connecting for policy and project research network in Cambodia: supporting to propose the idea to combine cross-cutting knowledge in design, research, and policy analysis to create comprehensive and illustrative solutions. Partners will be engaging for future project collaboration and raise voice in the community.
