Project SAGI

Overview

A rising rate of gender-based violence in society is a bewildering reality in today’s world. We believe that patriarchal norms and the lack of attention given to issues of gender minorities from an empathetic lens lies at the root of the problem. Project SAGI is our novel initiative that aims to fight the evil of gender inequality. SAGI, is an acronym for “Shapers Against Gender Inequality”. “SAGI” in Malayalam language translates as “friend or companion”.

In this first edition, our goal is to create awareness in society on the realities of gender based violence of various forms at a regional, national and international level. The team behind project SAGI involves a group of talented individuals including students, lawyers, researchers, corporate professionals and social sector professionals, all driven by one common passion - the fight against gender inequality.
