Re-Use

Some people in Geneva still do not have access to basic electronic tools to learn and to get "technology-savvy". At the same time companies are off-loading their technology tools once they are deemed too old and therefore creating a lot of e-waste. Switzerland is among the top countries in the world for e-waste.

Every year thousands of electronic devices from corporations in Switzerland are becoming obsolete and need to be replaced by newer ones. Unfortunately, the majority of the fully functioning devices are either thrown away or recycled, without being used again before the end of their life cycle.

On the other hand, many non-profit organisations are in need of such devices for their projects or operations but they might not always have connections to companies with spare devices that could be recuperated.

Target group: People in Geneva who cannot afford/access technology tools such as laptops, tablets and computers.

Proposed solution: The Re-Use programme aims to match the corporate donors and the non-profit organisations in order to increase awareness about e-waste and reduce them.

Collect used devices from large companies and give them to "foyers" and places where they will be given to those in needs
