Relief Efforts for Folk and Tribal Artists of Telangana

Problem statement:

The pandemic has wreaked havoc all across the world over the past 2 years affecting all sectors and livelihoods either directly or indirectly. Through the efforts of people, networks, corporates and organizations there has been relief work done for the ones affected. Hyderabad Hub with the support of Surge Impact, PHC India and Bharat Folk Arts, has been able to reach out to artists from the folk and tribal arts background and provide them some basic support. Their work and livelihood has been greatly impacted as they can’t take their performances online or travel to other places to take their art to people. Art, culture and traditions are elements that enrich our society, without them, we would lose our identity. There’s more we could do for such artists who have dedicated their lives to performing arts.

Objectives:

  • Fundraising to procure basic needs and groceries for artists. The list of artists must be vetted and verified.

  • Provide kits to 20 families of folk and tribal artists who are badly affected due to the pandemic. Supplied needs should be sufficient for an average family size of 4 and for an approximate duration of 50-60 days.
