Sugod (Cebuano word meaning, "to start") aims to increase more committed social entrepreneurs by preparing them to create social impact while maintaining a profitable business, even before they begin. While social entrepreneurship has become an increasing trend especially among the youth, sustaining these “businesses with social missions” requires significant attention. The Global Shapers Cebu believes that commitment can only be strengthened if one has a clearer picture of what the aspiring social entrepreneur is getting into even before starting the social enterprise. Hence, Sugod intends to show aspiring social entrepreneurs the all-encompassing work needed in starting, running, and sustaining a social enterprise through the insights and experiences of leaders in the field.

After going through the Sugod program, the participants are expected to have a greater resolve to start their social enterprises, and to be ready to take part in mentorship or accelerator programs.
