Longevity Economy Taskforce

The pattern of longevity is having a profound impact on the economic and social foundations worldwide with traditional approaches for financial independence in older age becoming increasingly unviable in many places.

The Longevity Economy Taskforce is a collaboration between the Forum’s Longevity Economy Initiative and the Global Shapers Community which puts young people at the centre of action to address this challenge. With knowledge exchanges going both ways – from Shapers to senior experts, and from senior experts to Shapers – we are creating space for intergenerational dialogue and knowledge to disseminate at the local level, globally.

About the Longevity Economy Initiative

By 2050, the global population over 60 is projected to reach 2.1 billion, profoundly transforming economies, workforces, and social systems. While longer life expectancy is a remarkable achievement, current retirement systems are insufficient to meet the challenges of extended lifespans.

The Longevity Economy Initiative is redesigning retirement systems, advancing financial innovations, and fostering longevity literacy to ensure better financial and health outcomes for individuals and societies.
